The ‘Eyes’ Have It.

There is something captivating about the eyes of a person. When I am taking photos of people I look first for the eyes. What are they showing me about a person that is often hidden by an awkward or shy exterior that comes when standing in front of a camera. How do you tell a story of someone in a single image from a fleeting moment?

I captured this beautiful ladies portrait while in the DR Congo last year on assignment with @womenforwomen. I love the look of strength and resilience in her eyes. It’s capturing portraits like this that excites me and helps to tell the stories of the amazing people that I get to meet along the way.
